The hotel was excellent - great service from the staff who couldn’t do enough for you and were available 24/7; very clean room, excellent breakfast (costs extra) most importantly it was a quick walk to Oktoberfest and many other bars/brew houses in the area. We arrived very early but we’re actually offered one of the rooms that were available for early check in

Horrible! We are here now and we were not told about the ongoing construction and drilling work.We are also in Munich and it is impossible to work. Now it is 9.15 and there is drilling over my head. It is horrendous that they do not inform their customers on their booking platform. It is also not mentionned on their main webpage. Do not book !

What first met me was barriers etc outside, and inside it turned out they were carrying out some renovations. The room was okay - they do seem to try to make it very nice! It was clean, but I was missing soap to wash my hands with. They have an old, small lift that did only go to floor four out of five. The halls were very noisy, and I was woken each morning by people talking in the halls or unlocking/locking doors. I was shocked to find the stairs blocked by old beds and trash from the renovations one morning though - this would’ve been very dangerous in an emergency! The cleaners also left dirty sheets in the hallways. It was very central however, lots of fun stuff to do close by. Not a lot of good restaurants in the area, but it was only a quick trip with the tram away.

I must admit, I got a bit of a shock when I came round the corner and saw Hotel Westend. There were roadworks, barriers, scaffold, renovations all being carried out right outside then I looked at the window and it was literally a building site. The interior front is also being renovated and when completed the reception area will be nice but at the moment it's very makeshift. However, the staff were nice, rooms spotlessly clean and comfortable and something for everyone at breakfast. Free coffee or tea to go. Basic soap and hair/body liquid soap in the shower room. Lift very small but perfectly adequate. I would stay here again. Our room overlooked the front and the road but it was really quiet. It's a 5 - 10 minute walk from Huckerbrucke railway station. A few small grocery stores, cafes and restaurants close by. Just a couple of minutes walk away is The Augustin Brewery/Beer Hall which is great for food but really busy. You can see The Saturn from the hotel corner. This is a huge electrical store but at the back of this is a shopping mall, massive supermarket and organic supermarket - all just two minutes walk away. It's also very close to where they hold Octoberfest. We took taxis to Marienplatz which cost approximately 14 euros and the hotel called the taxis for us.

What a find! The Westend hotel was only a short way from the city centre and easily accessible by tram or train. Andrea the receptionist was very helpful and friendly. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room which we would have preferred but free tea and coffee was available 24 hours a day in the dining room. Our room was comfortable and we had two great nights sleep. They are currently having some building work done but this did not affect our stay at all and I am looking forward to visiting again when it’s finished
